Our story

Empanadas are the most popular tradition in Argentina’s culinary culture.

Natalia grew up in Chivilcoy, a small town 100 miles west of Buenos Aires. Georgina grew up in Barcelona, Spain.

Every Sunday my family would gather at my Italian-born grandmother's house to cook, eat, and share stories. My grandmother always made fresh pasta by hand and the grandchildren’s job was to make the empanadas.

I’m a teacher by training and a cook by heart. My passion has always been baking. Since I arrived in New York City in 2008, I have learned from the amazing culinary and cultural variety which exists throughout New York City.

Cooking has always been a huge part of my life. Since the age of 9, I’ve cooked and created my own recipes. Every day I continue to learn, explore, and improve my recipes.

I love to bring the joy of my kitchen to my community, sharing my culture, and delivering a fresh homemade meal.

When I started selling empanadas in Brooklyn, the orders were doubling or tripling every week. After 3 months I realized I needed some help.  So my good friend Georgina, originally from Barcelona joined me in the venture. We met when our daughters were in pre-K in the same public school in Brooklyn. Georgina comes from a family of restaurant owners in Barcelona and works as a freelance video editor.

This is how EmpaNaty was born.

Our secret: all our ingredients are fresh and most of them are organic USDA certified.  Our beef is always grass-fed, our chicken is organic, our fish is wild-caught. We never use processed products in our recipes.

What makes our empanadas so different? They are baked instead of fried. They are always fresh and never greasy. THEY ARE ARTESANALS

After many months of hard work dedicated to improving and exploring new recipes, we are happy and excited to share with our community our fresh baked empanadas.

Hoping that you enjoy each bite as we enjoy making them.

WE HAVE BEEN FEATURED IN THE NYT. WE ARE REINVENTING THE EMPANADA!!!
